About Dr. Paul Duhamel
Dr. Paul Duhamel is a licensed neuropsychologist with extensive academic and professional experience in the fields of psychology, neuropsychology, and psychometrics. He holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and an interdisciplinary master's degree in human development from Laurentian University, with a focus on adolescence through late adulthood. Dr. Duhamel earned his Ph.D. in Cognitive and Brain Sciences from the University of Nevada, Reno, where his research centered on somatoform mental illness and the neuropsychological and physiological mechanisms of pain. His dissertation included the development of a novel device capable of objectively measuring neurophysiological responses to pain severity.
Dr. Duhamel has been a member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario since 2005. His early professional years focused on rehabilitation psychology for workplace injuries, motor vehicle collisions, and related contexts. Since 2015, he has specialized in independent medicolegal examinations, providing expert opinions in tort settings. Accepted as an expert witness in Ontario provincial court, Dr. Duhamel has contributed to the advancement of neuropsychology and the safeguarding of psychometric practices, as demonstrated in notable legal decisions such as Froman v. Bell-Bernardo et al., 2023 ONSC 2171.
